Mass Spectrometry

Mass spectrometry (MS)-based technology is a continuously growing field that combines modern high resolution mass spectrometers with quantitative approaches to analyse a wide range of biological samples. Here at the Beatson we use MS for proteomics and metabolomics analyses and our facilities develop and utilise state-of-the-art MS-based methods with the aim of providing a powerful platform that helps researchers to better understand the mechanisms that regulate various aspects of cancer.

The Proteomics and Metabolomics facilities at the Institute have dedicated laboratory space on level 2 of the building, which houses a number of mass spectrometers for both proteomic and metabolomic analyses.
