The Beatson Institute's new building has won the 'Best Public Building' Silver Award at the 2008 Roses Design Awards held in Manchester.
There were no Gold awards granted in this category so, along with Hazelwood School in Glasgow, which also received a Silver, our building can honestly claim to be the 'Best Public Building 2008'. The Roses Awards are a rare arena where Scottish and north English projects share the same platform. These are highly regarded awards that celebrate both design and architecture. Details of all the winners can be found at http://www.thedrum.co.uk/events/49-roses-design-awards-2008/categories/ (the Beatson is entry no. 31).
The building has also won has won the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) Supreme Award 2008 - more details can be found at http://uk.archiseek.com/scotland/news/2008/000106.html.
