Completion of the new Beatson Institute building

The new Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute at Glasgow University's Garscube Estate in Bearsden was handed over by the contractor Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd in December of last year. The £15 million building was jointly funded by the University and Cancer Research UK and following a period of laboratory commissioning and specialist fit out, the Institute staff relocated there in February and March.

Next phase for cancer research in Glasgow

The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, directed by Professor Karen Vousden, is at the heart of basic and translational cancer research in Glasgow. Its recent move to a new £15 million building marks a major milestone in the development of the city as an international centre for cancer research.
