Former student wins prize

marta2.jpgDr Marta Dozynkiewicz, a former PhD student in Jim Norman's group at the Beatson, has been awarded the Joseph Black Medal & Alan Hird Prize by the University of Glasgow for her 2010 PhD thesis entitled ‘The role of chloride intracellular channel-3 in integrin trafficking and tumour progression’.

This medal is awarded annually by the University's Graduate School as the highest distinction for excellence in a PhD thesis submitted by a non-medical/dental graduate.

Marta's work has been published in the following paper: Dozynkiewicz MA et al. Rab25 and CLIC3 collaborate to promote integrin recycling from late endosomes/lysosomes and drive cancer progression. Dev Cell 2012; 22: 131-45. Epub 2011/12/27. http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.devcel.2011.11.008
