Beatson Workshop

Cold-blooded Cancer: Non-mammalian Models for Oncology Research

SUNDAY 2 TO TUESDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2012
Robertson Trust Lecture Theatre,
The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research

This workshop will focus on emerging in vivo cancer research systems involving invertebrates such as Drosophila and vertebrates such as Zebrafish.  The topics covered will include cell competition, migration and invasion, stem cells, tumour-related inflammation and drug discovery.

The workshop will be restricted to a maximum of 75 participants to enhance discussion and create an informal and interactive atmosphere.  We will create a forum for discussion that will be both lively and provocative, leading to an intimate exhange of ideas with the intention of shaping future research efforts.  There will be a supper at the Beatson Institute on Sunday night following the first session.  On Monday night there will be a dinner at The Bothy restaurant which is located in the West End of Glasgow.  These events are open to all participants.  The organisers find that these informal dinners prove very beneficial to the ambience of the workshop.

There will be a poster session during the workshop and abstracts of all talks and poster presentations will be produced and distributed to all participants.  Please ensure that you email a copy of your abstract to Sarah Price, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   by the deadline of Monday 23 July 2012.  The abstract should be no more than 500 words and should be sent as an email attachment in rich text format. Contact details of all participants will also be distributed at the workshop.

Deadline for registration and abstract submission - Monday 23 July 2012
