 Introduction

Jim CassidyThe Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) has now moved to its new accommodation in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre on the Gartnavel campus. The recent success in winning funding for new studies has resulted in an expansion of projects and staffing in the CTU such that we have already filled this enhanced space.

We have also been awarded Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre funding to replace (and increase) our NTRAC support. This will enhance our abilities to perform truly translational studies in humans.

It has proved difficult to restructure and recruit in the wake of Bob Brown’s departure to Imperial College but we have refocused the Gene Medicines programme.
