Beatson scientists join in

This year's Race for Life launch

Thursday 11th February saw the launch of this year's Cancer Research UK Race for Life in Glasgow, and several scientists from the Beatson went along to take part and speak to fundraisers about the work being done at the Institute, including group leader Laura Machesky who said:

“It’s really great from our point of view, because we get the chance to explain what the money is being spent on and why it’s so important."

Last year, 17,000 women took part in the event in Glasgow and raised almost £1 million for Cancer Research UK. But everyone is hoping to beat that record this year and make Glasgow's the biggest Race for Life in the UK.
