Student meeting success
Beatson students are celebrating the resounding success of their International PhD Student Cancer Conference held at the Instiute from 15th to 17th June. The students - Christine Adams, Andrew Davidson, Sahra Derkits, Sarah Dowding, Laura Galbraith, Juan Macagno, Guen Moreaux, Rhoda Stefanatos, Maren Stindt, Sandeep Talapatra, Dhaval Varshney and Jen Wood - welcomed over 100 students from research institutes across Europe to the meeting, along with plenary speakers Tim Hunt and Gerard Evan.

They organised every aspect of the conference, from deciding on the scientific programme to arranging the social events. It involved a considerable amount of work and planning but the students more than rose to the challenge, making the meeting both interesting and enjoyable.

Special congratulations need to go to Christine Adams, chair of the organising committee, who won the prize for the best talk at the meeting and Sarah Dowding who won a prize for her talk at another student conference in Brussels only a few weeks before.
