Kurt Anderson - Actin Dynamics

Introduction

KurtAnderson.jpgReorganisation of the actin cytoskeleton drives the migration of malignant cells. We are developing techniques in light microscopy to study the molecular interactions that underlie this reorganisation.

A major focus of our work is the mechanism by which actin polymerisation exerts force on the plasma membrane to initiate cell migration.

Recently, we have also begun to look at the dynamics of cell adhesion using mouse tumour models.
