Public Transport

If you are travelling by public transport, please see the information below about hiring taxis when arriving at Glasgow City Centre or Glasgow Airport. There are also regular train and bus services from Glasgow City Centre.

Travelling by Taxi

There are taxi ranks at Central Station and Queen Street Station, in Glasgow City Centre. The cost is approximately £10.00 - £12.00 and the journey time 20 - 30 minutes. A taxi from Glasgow Airport costs £20.00 - £25.00 and the journey time is 20 - 30 minutes. Ask the driver to take you to Reception at the CRUK Scotland Institute (formerly known as the CRUK Beatson Institute) (see map).

Travelling by Train

The CRUK Scotland Institute is a short 15 minutes walk from Westerton train station where services connect to the main stations, Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street in the City Centre.

Travelling by Bus

Bus service 77: Glasgow Airport - City Centre

The 77 service operates from the airport to the city centre via Renfrew, Braehead, Partick, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Charing Cross, which means you can get off in the West End, close to the University of Glasgow and hotels in the West End. Visit the First Bus website for details.

Bus service 15: City Centre - Milngavie

The bus from the City Centre to Switchback Road, Bearsden is the No 15 (signed Milngavie). This bus goes along Great Western Road, with stops for the University of Glasgow. It runs at 60 minute intervals and the journey time is about 30 minutes from the City Centre, 20 minutes from Great Western Road. Most drivers will alert you to the 'Farm Gate, Garscube Estate' bus stop if you request this when you get on. Cross the main road (dual carriageway) and follow signs for the CRUK Scotland Institute (formerly the CRUK Beatson Institute) (see map). Visit the West Coast Motors website for the timetable.

Bus services 17/60/60A: Garscube Estate via Maryhill Road

These bus services connect the City Centre with the Garscube Estate (Killermont/Garscube Bridge) via Maryhill Road. They run at regular intervals of up to 15mins. Visit West Coast Motors for service 17 and First Bus for service 60/60A.
